I was responsible for...
My major project was a cost savings initiative of Frontier's Simply Organic line of seasoning packets, ranging from Taco seasoning to Hollandaise sauce to Ranch dip. Side projects included sensory tests of new supplier products, shelf life studies, and lab maintenance.
Along with the main objective of cost savings, I reformulated the seasoning packets to optimize net weights, created cleaner ingredient labels, minimized caking issues, improved flavor, texture and functionality, as well as incorporated blending and packaging concerns.
I will never forget...
The experience I had while reformulating the Hollandaise sauce packet in particular was the most frustrating of them all and I didn't think I would ever figure it out. Every trial I would make a little more progress and finally it paid off. Such a rewarding experience!
Advice for others...
My advice would be to keep trying for the position you want and don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away. I applied to many, many positions before I was offered this one not even two months before summer began.
