Assessment measures

Assessment measures have been developed and/or selected to evaluate student learning outcomes and program outcomes. The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) routinely employs indirect assessment measures, such as surveys, as well as direct assessment measures of student work:

  • Rubrics for evaluation of student work
  • Senior surveys during the semester prior to graduation
  • Alumni surveys one year after graduation
  • Dietetic internship director surveys

The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) has the additional program outcome assessment measures:

  • Program completion rates
  • Graduate performance including placement into accredited dietetics internships
  • Pass rate on the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) examination for dietitians
