Responsibilities

As a quality assurance intern, I worked day to day with the QA department to learn what they do, and assist them where needed. I worked on various projects throughout the summer where I updated trainings and tested the food safety culture. I also got to see how the food manufacturing process worked at the specific plant I was at.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was presenting all of my projects at the corporate presentation day. I was able to showcase all of my projects as well as present any resulting process improvements.

Learning experience

I learned a lot about sensory evaluation which was something I didn't have much experience in before my internship. I was able to participate in beef and plant-based patty sensory evaluation which was a great experience coming into my senior year.

What advice would you give?

Make connections and put yourself out there. It will make such a difference in your future career if you develop connections now.
