Creating Standard Operating Procedures related to food safety and quality assuranc. Assisting with audit preparation, for GFCO and FSSC 22000. Updating and maintaining documents related to foreign material prevention, gluten test results, and food safety standards.
My greatest accomplishment was working closely in the FSSC 22000 audit preparation. Where I was able to write many SOPs, update the Ames Plant HACCP Plan, gathered corrective actions for plant issues, and make sure to have all our food safety procedures documented and verified. This was a great responsibility and I worked very hard to follow food safety standards.
My greatest lesson was taking the opportunity to work in Quality. Before this job, I didn’t imagine myself working in a food quality position but my leap of faith and wanting to experience something new brought me great experiences and fond memories.
Advice for others...
My advice to future students its to not always listen to what everyone else think you should do. Explore new opportunities, take risks, and try new things!
