I was responsible for...
My responsibilities were preparing, baking and cooking ingredients to be used in a variety of ice cream flavors. I helped out employees and filled in where I was needed to maintain an efficient workspace.
I helped out one of our ice cream trucks with the National Balloon Classic which caused me to work a 12-hour day. It took a lot of energy but it really helped out other employees and the business to have me there.
The biggest lesson I learned from this experience was to work efficiently, the work staff was limited and some days were long. Being able to multi-task could make the difference between leaving work an hour or two early and staying an hour late.
Advice for others...
I would advise others to make sure to interact with others while on the job. I tried to make a good relationship with all my coworkers because being able to talk to them and have a good time during the day and going out after work is what made me love this summer.
