August

  • Faculty prepare course syllabi specifying department- and major-specific learning outcomes.

September

  • Outcomes Assessment Committee and appropriate instructors prepare course-level continuous improvement plans for the Iowa State Course-Level Continuous Improvement Plan Qualtrics survey.
  • Departmental student services specialist updates and administers alumni surveys.
  • Alumni who graduated 1 year previously complete outcomes survey.
  • Departmental student services specialist compiles information from senior and alumni surveys.

October

  • Outcomes Assessment Committee analyzes data from senior and alumni surveys and data from faculty generated Student Learning Outcomes reports.
  • Curriculum Committee presents proposed degree program changes to faculty; faculty members vote on proposed degree program changes.

November

  • Outcomes Assessment Committee prepares draft of annual report with data and recommendations for Curriculum Committee.

December

  • Departmental student services specialist notifies graduating seniors to complete senior survey.
  • Students complete online instructor/course evaluations.
  • Instructors collect appropriate student work artifacts and assess achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Outcomes Assessment Committee evaluates student work for learning outcomes achievement.

January

  • Faculty prepare course syllabi specifying department and major-specific learning outcomes.
  • Outcomes Assessment Committee presents data from previous year at Faculty Retreat.
  • Outcomes Assessment Committee  submits report to Curriculum Committee which includes outcomes assessment data and curriculum recommendations.
  • Faculty submit Student Learning Outcomes Report as part of their Annual Activity Report.

February

  • Curriculum Committee formulates proposed course changes.

March

  • Curriculum Committee reports to faculty, which discusses proposed course changes.

April

  • Outcomes Assessment Committee  prepares yearly report summarizing accomplishments and goals for next year.
  • Curriculum Committee finalizes new courses and changes.
  • Faculty members votes on proposed course changes.

May

  • Departmental student services specialist notifies graduating seniors to complete senior survey.
  • Students complete online instructor/course evaluations.
  • Instructors collect appropriate student work artifacts and assess achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Outcomes Assessment Committee evaluates student work for learning outcomes achievement.
  • Appropriate instructors complete the Iowa State Course-Level Continuous Improvement Plan Qualtrics survey.

June

  • Outcomes Assessment Committee chair and Associate Department chair summarize outcome assessment and curriculum information for college reports and IFT.
