With just a few steps, you can be considered for the many scholarships available to students in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department!

Please view Food Science and Human Nutrition Department Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities HERE. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Human Sciences, and the University each provide additional scholarship opportunities.

Undergraduate Application

The Food Science and Human Nutrition Department uses the same online application (OneApp) as the Iowa State University Office of Financial Aid to gather your information and consider you for appropriate scholarships from a pool of hundreds of scholarships.

  • *Students in joint Bachelor/Master programs should apply based on their classification for the upcoming academic year.
    • Ex: Pre-Diet & Exercise students should apply for Undergraduate Scholarships using One App. Diet & Exercise students who have been admitted to the program should apply for graduate scholarships for the next academic year.

Submitting a complete OneApp application ensures you will be considered for college level scholarships, department scholarships and university-level scholarships. The OneApp application takes about an hour to complete, and you can save and complete it at a later time if needed. You will need your Iowa State Net ID to start your application. You must complete both the general application and college application to be considered for a scholarship. Be sure to SUBMIT your application.

The online scholarship application page explains requirements, deadlines, and other details for undergraduates (incoming freshmen, transfer, and current students).

Know the deadlines: Students in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition Department are part of two colleges and each college has their own deadlines for scholarship submission. Be sure you know your colleges deadlines:

The deadlines to be considered for scholarships for the 2024-2025 are:

  • Incoming freshmen: Feb. 8
  • Transfer students: Mar. 5
  • Continuing students: Apr. 1
